Providing relief to the parched land and distressed people of Bundelkhand region is becoming a matter of high priority because in recent years many hunger deaths and farmers' suicides have been reported and distress conditions appear to be peak ing during this summer. Bundelkhand's mythology and history are full of inspiring stories. Its temples, tanks and other traditional water sources serve as reminders of the days when people felt inspired to create great works of art as well as utility. The reality of today, however, is very grim. Spread over about 69,000 sq. km. in seven districts of Uttar Pradesh (Chitrakut, Banda, Jhansi, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba and Lalitpur) and six districts of Madhya Pradesh (Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Damoh, Sagar, Datia and Panna), Bundelkhand has been appearing in the news mostly for wrong reasons.

Carb concerns
My wife planned her meals meticulously, carefully monitoring a proper balance between the nutritional formula of carbohydrates, minimal fat and protein. Even so, she found herself hungering for a diet fix that wouldn't leave her bloated and craving for sweets. Her problems didn't end there. Mike Hannam, Lee Riva, Tim Griffin, Donna Huxter and Tone Zone co-owner Jane Carter competed against other fitness enthusiasts where they were judged on their condition, body symmetry and muscle mass through a series of judging rounds comprising of compulsory and free style posing routines. And Between them they won a total of ten trophies, four first place trophies, one third place trophy, three best presentation trophies, one best new comer trophy and Mike Hannam was awarded the overall class winner's trophy. Four of the five competitors will be travelling to Coventry in October to compete in the British finals which is a qualifier for the world finals which will be held in Madrid. They have all been training flat-out for the past year with this competition in their sights and through their knowledge, determination and hard work have lost approximately eight stones in body weight between them.
Kidnap saga ends with a wedding

Adams and Alexandra Lourdes (Martinez) Adams, 43, a dentist, were married in Las Vegas on June 15. After their nuptials, they began their honeymoon at the Rotary's annual conference in Salt Lake City.
